3DM is one of the biggest pirate groups around the world. They are known for cracking game software and making it available for people to download for free on their forums. Previously, they stated that piracy may come to an end in the next couple of years.

However, for them, their pirating days have come to end now. The group has officially announced its retirement, meaning no more cracked games from 3DM.

We just had an internal meeting. Starting at the Chinese New Year, 3DM will not crack any single-player games. Cracks by overseas warez groups will still get posted on the [3DM] forum, and we will actively deal with these.

This is great news for developers but a pretty big slap on the face of authorities. These people should have been caught a long time ago, however, even after their retirement it may not make a big difference. But it’s definitely a start.

3DM is just of the privacy Hydra heads so we need to cut all of them to put an end to this business. There are other groups who will now try their best to take 3DM’s place, but for them, Denovo is bad news.

It is a security measure used to protect software from pirates. It is next to impossible to crack and was recently used in Just Cause 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider PC.

Denovo is the reason 3DM considered piracy’s future to be bleak.
