Does Final Fantasy XV Uncovered Website Code Hint at a PC Version?

Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV must sell

When games like Final Fantasy XV edge closer to release, if the PC has not been announced as one of the platforms then rumours start. Some “hints” are found, and people see this as the evidence they need for confirmation that a PC version will be coming.

This appears to be what has happened on Neogaf today when a user has looked at some of the Javascript included on the Final Fantasy XV Uncovered website. As you can see from the screenshot of the code below you can see references to Steam, which obviously is about the PC. All good and well, what they then go onto notice though is that the same code is included on the Rise of the Tomb Raider website too.

What this insinuates is that the code has just been reused and will probably be found on many other websites that the company uses. Rather than being “lazy” it is actually something that developers do to save themselves having to write the same code over and over again.

While this hint to the PC version of the Final Fantasy XV game doesn’t really hold much truth to it though, it is safe to assume that the platform will be getting a version of the game. It may not come at the same time console owners get to enjoy it, but sometime in the near future is believable.

Could we be wrong about the code reuse being the reason for the PC references in the Javascript? Yes, there is a possibility. I’d not look at this theory being true though, and I’m sure other people with development experience will see this for what it is.
