Star Wars Battlefront Won’t Use The Force Awakens Content, Here’s Why

Star Wars Battlefront

Last year was a big one for Star Wars fans as not only they got Episode VII: The Force Awakens, but a new video game as well. The game I’m referring to is Star Wars Battlefront which released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

It featured some iconic characters from the film series such as Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and more. We also saw AT-ST Walker, TIE Fighter, X-Wings etc.

The content on the game was taken from previous Star Wars movies, but since The Force Awakens came out, fans were hoping to play and use characters and weapons from Episode VII in Battlefront.

This is a very tempting idea but sadly that will not happen anytime soon. According to EA, ” you can’t make a game in Star Wars that violates the canon of Star Wars.”

On Star Wars, the one thing that we are adhering to, and I think this is part of our arrangement with Lucas and Disney, is you can’t make a game in Star Wars that violates the canon of Star Wars. Meaning you can’t take something from the future and bring it back into the past unless it’s a reference.

Well, that is a disappointment. We were really hoping to play as Kylo Ren or Ray. I love that red Lightsaber of Kylo Ren. Hopefully, EA would change its mind.
