The Witcher 2 Having Download Issues in Some Countries

The Witcher 2 has been released for free on Xbox 360 and Xbox One through backwards compatibility, but appears to be having some download issues.

Today has been a big day for fans of The Witcher 2 as it is now free on Xbox 360 and Xbox One through backwards compatibility. It appears though, that while the game may be available until February 5, some are having problems downloading it.

This has been revealed by Marcin Momot who made an announcement on Twitter letting people know Xbox and CD Projekt Red are aware of the problem:

One thing we also have to be aware of is the fact it is only available to certain regions. We’ll be able to confirm which regions can download the game once the problems downloading are fixed. It is safe to say right now that U.S. and Canada are able to download the game now.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has been added to the Backwards Compatibility list for Xbox One, which is good timing with the game being made available for free. Though these downloading problems seem to be ruining things a little, when they are sorted people can venture back into the world of Geralt of Rivia.

While not as accessible as The Witcher 3, this is still an enjoyable game that has plenty of hours of gameplay. Though hardcore fans of The Witcher will no doubt have already plunged plenty of hours into it already.
