Rocket League on Xbox One to Get Sunset Overdrive Exclusives
Rocket League’s release on Xbox One is sure to continue the game’s surprising success. Now that it is moving to the Microsoft console, we are going to be getting some exclusives to make the upcoming release feel a little special.
One such exclusive has been revealed by Insomniac Games in the form of Sunset Overdrive Garage items. These were revealed by Marcus Smith, the creative director of the game. On what will be coming he revealed:
“It would be a sport the denizens of Sunset City would eventually create for themselves (if they could only get those damn cars started!). Therefore, it seemed perfectly fitting when we were approach by the fine people of Psyonix, asking if they could do some Sunset related Garage Items. Since this is Oscar season, I’ll go so far as to say it was an honor even being considered. But seeing what they did with the Overcharge Rocket Boost was especially thrilling. The Overcharge bubbles look and sound great. When the booster is activated, you can hear the firing mechanism from the Ahab gun in Sunset. It’s so good! Hats off to our friends at Psyonix. They did a hell of a job.”

One thing that apparently won’t be getting in the Xbox One version of Rocket League is cross-platform support which may be a disappointment, especially with Microsoft hyping up the closeness with the PC and console right now. Maybe this is something they can consider as a future feature to show that the two technologies are truly working together.
