Street Fighter 5 Expected to Have In-Depth Story Mode
One of the highly demanded features for Street Fighter 5 is a good and in-depth story mode, but Capcom is yet to commit on something like that. The good news is, we might actually get this wish granted.
Yoshinori Ono, the producer of the game was recently interviewed where he hinted at something.
Giving the example of Mortal Kombat X and Guilty Gear Xrd, Yoshinori Ono was asked if they were planning a similar and extensive story mode for the game. His reply was that the development team knows that it is one of the demands of the fans but didn’t confirm anything.
However, what he did say was that they will be announcing details on a type of large-scale narrative soon.
The team is aware of the high demand for a story mode. With SFV, at launch, we’ll be offering a prologue which introduces players to the characters and the world of Street Fighter V. As for the type of large-scale narrative everyone is hoping for, we’ll have more details to announce in the very near future, so please stay tuned.
That being said, if you were expecting Street Fighter 5 to bring you some interesting anime prologues and endings from famous studios, it looks like you will be disappointed because Ono says that they are focusing more on the fighting side of the game because they “have a different art style this time around.”
Just as we draw close to the February 16 release date of the game, Capcom and Sony have started their “console exclusive” branding and marketing for the game – and we coulddn’t have been any more excited.
