Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 Beta Better Resolution and Textures on PlayStation 4
This weekend I took a look at the Plants vs. Zombie: Garden Warfare 2 Beta and had a lot of fun. It appears that the Beta has also revealed some interesting details about framerate and resolution.
Gearnuke have analysed the game, based on the Beta for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Based on this they’ve come up with the conclusion that the PlayStation 4 is running at native 1080p, and that there is a noticeable difference in quality between that and Xbox One.
Their conclusion is that the PlayStation 4 version is superior:
“Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 looks fairly crisp on PS4 due to its native 1080p resolution, while the Xbox One version appears a little blurry when compared next to PS4. Both versions of the game however look equally as good.”
“As for the texture quality, there appears to be some lower quality textures being utilized for some of the vehicles on Xbox One, which might be a bug considering it doesn’t appear to be in effect in all the comparisons. Hopefully this is fixed in the final version of the game.”
What we have to remember is that this is only the Beta version and this is likely to change. The original game ran at 900p on Xbox One and 1080p on PlayStation 4. From the conclusions above, this may hint at the same. Be sure to head over to Gearnuke to see a more detailed comparison between the Beta versions of the game.
What we’ve not seen yet are what the game will look like on the PC or what the graphical options will be. It can be assumed though that the game will look better on the more powerful machine.
