Star Citizen - Star Marine FPS

The fact that Star Citizen is the biggest crowdfunding project ever with its $100 million wallet means everything that Cloud Imperium Games is going to try and be better than others in every aspect of the game. They are going as far as saying that the game’s FPS module, Star Marine, is going to be more lethal than that of Call of Duty games!

Chris Robert, the game creator himself let this out when he was talking about certain other features of the game in the latest “10 for the Chairman” video. Primarily, he was asked if the Star Marine module was going to have stealth elements or not.

His reply was that stealth was going to be at the core of the design specially since the first person shooter module, that went up for Alpha 2.0 in early December, is so dangerous in general.

Absolutely. That is part of the core design. We are trying to make the FPS gameplay itself be more tactical, less just ‘run and gun.’ Especially since it is more lethal than you would normally expect with a Call of Duty or something.

So yeah, you are looking at a more lethal as well as a more tactical gameplay experience with Star Marine than other AAA shooters as well as other components of Star Citizen.

In case you haven’t been checking up on the game or Star Marine in particular, here are all the details that have been shared and here’s an old footage of the module.

Star Citizen is scheduled to release this year although a specific release date has not been shared yet.
