EVE: Valkyrie Alpha Test Date Revealed

By   /   Jan 6, 2016

The Oculus Rift is now available for pre-order, so now focus will be on what games will be available for it. One game already being hyped is EVE: Valkyrie which will come free with the headset.

Today it has been announced that alpha testing for the game will begin January 18. To take part though you’ll need to have access to the Oculus Rift DK2 headset. You can sign up to the Alpha Test here.

EVE: Valkyrie is a multiplayer dogfighting shooter that shows off what the Oculus Rift can do, which is probably one reason that it is being given away with the headset. While people may be excited about the fact the Alpha test is coming this month, the fact that the Oculus development kit will be required may dampen spirits somewhat. With the Oculus Rift retail version not coming until after March this is obviously going to hold back most people playing it.

For people who are pre-ordering the Oculus Rift, the fact that the game is being prepared for release should catch their interest. Though I’m sure they’ll be happier to see it past the Alpha phase, and heading towards the final release version.

Once released EVE: Valkyrie will be coming to PC with the Oculus Rift, as well as PlayStation 4 as a launch title for PlayStation VR. It will be interesting to see which version of the game sells better, the PlayStation 4 or the PC version.
