Sony Offers Rewards After PSN Outage but Fans Need a Better Network
PSN goes down so often that it isn’t news anymore but still it is our job to let you know whenever it goes down again. Sony online network went down again earlier but thankfully it is back online. To make up for what happened, Sony has now announced a few rewards for PSN users.
Good news for PlayStation Plus members is that their subscription is being extended. Meanwhile, same treatment is on offer for PS Now subscribers.
Thanks for your patience today – stay tuned for details on PS Plus, PS Now, and video rental extensions.

Sony’s service went down for over 10 hours across the globe, it was a very frustrating situation for fans who are still not used to PSN outage. Offering rewards is a great gesture but Sony needs to work on its infrastructure from the ground up.
Common consensus among fans is the need for a better network. Some are considering moving to Xbox Live but sadly things aren’t that great over there as well.
DDoS attacks, downtime, connection issues, all are making it harder for us to enjoy our favorite games online. Fans have also started a campaign under #BetterPSN. The campaign hasn’t done much good as Sony only shared a single statement before going dark on the topic.
Feedback from our community is very important to us and helps guide our ongoing commitment toward making PlayStation the best place to play. We encourage users to submit ideas on ways to improve PlayStation products and services here: http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/. We appreciate the dialogue we have with our gamers and have built and improved features based directly on their input.
Are you happy with just receiving rewards or do you think it is about time Sony makes improvements to its infrastructure?
