Rise of the Tomb Raider PC Release Data, System Specs and 4K Screenshots!
The release date for Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC has probably been the worst kept, but Square Enix have finally confirmed the date. Expect to be able to play Lara Croft’s latest adventure on the PC on January 28.
We’ve seen plenty of hints that it was coming, from Amazon reporting a date and Steam also stating January. The problem with this of course was that until the date was officially confirmed then it was all purely speculation. Now that the press release has been sent out and details confirmed, we now know when the game will be releasing.
What will interest people with high-end machines is the potential for playing the game in a 4k resolution, something that Xbox One has not been able to achieve. Below are some screenshots giving a tease of how good the game is likely to look on the PC:
In addition to this new information, the minimum specifications have been revealed:
- PC Minimum Specifications:
- Minimum OS: Windows 7 64bit
- Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent
- GPU: NVIDIA GTX 650 2GB or AMD HD7770 2GB

Luckily these specs aren’t too power hungry so most people should be able to run it without any major issues.
“The PC release of Rise of the Tomb Raider continues the positive momentum from our highly successful partnership and collaboration with Microsoft for the launch on Xbox One and Xbox 360,” said Scot Amos co-Head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics.
“PC players are a passionate, devoted audience and we know they’ll embrace the version created for their systems,” said Ron Rosenberg, co-Head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics.
With Rise of the Tomb Raider selling over 1 million copies on Xbox One alone, it will be interesting to see how well it sells on the PC.
