Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Microtransactions Added to PS3 and Xbox 360
Now that microtransactions have made their way into Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 their uses are being revealed. While they may not be available for the previous generation consoles it looks like Vials of Liquid Divinium now are.
Activision have provided users with an FAQ that explains the uses of Call of Duty Points. It reveals that the points can be used to purchase Crytokeys for the Black Market, as well as Liquid Divinium that can be used in Zombies. This is used to purchase GobbleGum power-ups in Dr. Morty’s Factory of Zombies.
The main issue with Call of Duty Points right now are the fact that they are not available on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. This doesn’t mean that these consoles have escaped microtransactions through as CharlieIntel have revealed players on these consoles can now purchase vials of Divinium in the in-game story for use in Zombies mode. They also revealed these prices:
- 3 Vials of Liquid Divinium ($1.99)
- 15 Vials of Liquid Divinium + 2 Bonus Vials ($9.99)
- 30 Vials of Liquid Divinium + 6 Bonus Vials ($19.99)
- 60 Vials of Liquid Divinium + 15 Bonus Vials ($39.99)
These prices will vary by region, so always take note of the price that the in-game story is showing.
What is important about the Divinium being available on the previous consoles is the fact that Call of Duty Points are not available, so this is a way of opening up the microtransactions to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Whether players make use of them will be interesting to see.
