You Don’t Need a Super Expensive Card to Play Dark Souls 3, System Specs Revealed

Dark Souls 3

From Software has shared the system specs of Dark Souls 3 and I have to say I’m pretty relieved to see them. The game isn’t demanding and can run on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465 / ATI Radeon TM HD 6870 or equivalent with an i3 or equivalent.

This means that you don’t need a super expensive card to play this amazing masterpiece from From Software. Here are the minimum and recommended system specs for Dark Souls 3.

Minimum PC System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 64 bit
  • Processor: AMD A8 3870 3.6 Ghz or Intel Core i3 2100 3.1Ghz
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465 / ATI Radeon TM HD 6870
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 50 GB available space

Recommended PC System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 64 bit
  • Processor: AMD FX 8150 3.6 GHz or Intel Core i7 2600 3.4 GHz
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 750, ATI Radeon HD 7850
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 50 GB available space

GTX 465 and HD 6870 are pretty outdated cards but still From Software has managed to make Dark Souls 3, a game releasing in 2016, run on both of them. Of course, there won’t be eye candy visuals but at least we’ll be able to play the game.

Meanwhile, those with anything above the minimum specs are going to have no issues running the game on higher settings. The only thing we now hope is that the title will be properly optimized for PC, which is rarely the case these days.

Who can forget Batman Arkham Knight? Anyways, Dark Souls 3 will release in February for consoles and PC.
