Hideo Kojima Definitely Interested in a del Toro Project; Game, Movie or Anime

Silent Hills Was a Decoy

Ever since Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima announced (and then later cancelled) Silent Hills, the gaming community has been head over heels over the idea. Although Kojima is not at Konami anymore, which also means that he doesn’t have the rights to make Silent Hills, the veteran is definitely interested in working with del Toro!

He was recently talking to IGN Australia about the idea of a new project where del Toro would be involved, and we are glad too tell you that the two are often talking about the same.

That being said, Hideo Kojima also added that it could be a game, anime or a movie that the two would work in in the future, but that he couldn’t confirm anything right now. Here’s an excerpt from his interview:

Every now and then we talk about working together in the future, but I cannot make that guarantee here. But I definitely want to work with him in the future. I have no idea what I’ll be working on with him, if it’ll be a game, a movie, anime, but someday I definitely want to create something with him.

Needless to say, everyone reading this right now has one thing on their mind and that is P.T. as well as Silent Hills.

In all honesty, the fans don’t care what the game is called, as long as it gives them the same chills that P.T. did back in the days. Just as they have been commenting about it over the internet, fans wouldn’t mind if the game is called “Silent Hileo,” “Norman Reedus Hour of Terror,” “Soundless Mountains,” or “Quiet Mound,” everyone just wants that experience.

In parallel news, Sony has announced a partnership with Hideo Kojima, a new independent studio named Kojima Productions has been launched (we are glad they didn’t change the name) and it is expected that the next title Kojima works on will be a military sci-fi title.
