Report: Sony’s Call of Duty Deal Doesn’t Cover Micro Items
Sony and Activision are currently under agreement for Call of Duty DLC. Similar to how things were with Xbox in the past, Call of Duty players on PlayStation will get DLC early.
Downloadable content such as map packs, gear, weapons and more will be first on PlayStation. Well, at least that’s what we thought how things will be handled. However, it looks like Sony and Activision deal is somewhat different to Microsoft’s.
Previously, micro items such as gear and weapons were available on Xbox first and since the deal moved to PlayStation, it was presumed that same is going to be the case for Sony’s Platform. But a new update rolled out for all platforms that added Call of Duty Points (in-game currency) and new items such as gear and camos to the Black Market.
refresh to the Black Market will introduce three new melee weapons available through Supply Drops: the Butterfly Knife, Wrench, and Brass Knuckles. Each functions like the Combat Knife and can be equipped as your secondary weapon, but offer their own look and feel. The team at Treyarch is also adding an array of new taunts, new sets of bodies and head variants for each Specialist, as well as Epic rarity camo, and a wealth of new Calling Cards on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC
This is a strong indication that micro items are not part of the deal and are going to go live for all platforms at the same. Black Ops 3 season has just begun and this is just one case, we’ll have to wait for more content to arrive in order to be sure of this.
