The era of Virtual Reality gaming is about to begin. As Oculus Rift and its competitors ready their VR headsets, so do the developers to create games specifically meant to take use of this amazing technology.

The famous developer Crytek has always been known for its technical innovativeness, and it’s no surprise that they’re one of the first ones to announce a game exclusively for the Oculus Rift.

Called The Climb, this brand new IP is designed from the ground-up for virtual reality gaming. Currently, in development at Crytek’s Frankfurt studio, The Climb will be exclusive to the Oculus Rift.

The Climb is a first-person experience, and as the name suggests, as players climbing some of the deadliest cliffs, completely unaided. The videogame will feature realistic climbing locations from around the world, pushing the limits to near realism with the Oculus Rift to provide a perspective that most would never get a chance to experience.

Crytek is very well known for its all-powerful CryEngine, boasting some of the best virtual graphic technology available. The Climb will be utilizing the technology of both the CryEngine as well as Oculus Rift to give a truly immersive experience. The Climb will also support Xbox One controller and the forthcoming Oculus Touch.

The Oculus Rift VR headset is expected to be released in Q1 2016, and folks should expect more developers to join Crytek in pursuit of VR video-gaming when it does.
