Tekken 7: Fated Retribution Confirmed; Includes Akuma as a Playable Character

By   /   Dec 12, 2015

Following a nail-biting Grand Finale between two of Tekken’s finest at the King of Iron Fist Tournament 2015, Katsuhiro Harada announced Tekken 7: Fated Retribution — an update coming to the Arcade version of the game which will bring enhanced visuals, new stages, brand new costumes, and new characters.

The mindboggling moment came when Harada announced that holy friggin’ Akuma from Street Fighter franchise will be coming to Tekken 7 as a playable guest character.

It has been revealed that Akuma will play a major role in Tekken 7’s storyline, but I’m not sure how these two universes are linked with each other. What I know for sure is that Kazumi Mishima was talking to none other than Akuma in that temple shown in the Tekken 7’s original trailer.

Kazumi Mishima asks Akuma to kill Heihachi after Kazumi dies and Akuma promises her to do so in order to repay his debt to her — once again I do not know what debt are we speaking of!

You can check out Akuma’s official reveal trailer in Japanese attached above and some of the new artwork showing Akuma, Leo, Bryan, Lili, Ling, and more below.

From what I gather, it looks like Akuma will retain most of his abilities and signature moves from Street Fighter, but a mere side-step will suffice in order to evade his fireball.
