The Game Awards 2015

The Game Awards 2015 are coming this Thursday, December 3 and many “exclusives” are promised. One of them being that Oculus founder Palmer Luckey is going to make a big announcement at the show.

The reveal was made by Geoff Keighley who has been teasing many of the big reveals that will be coming at the the show:

With nothing being revealed as to what Palmer Luckey is going to reveal there is obviously going to be a lot of speculation as to what this could be. Will he reveal details of a consumer verison of the Oculus Rift? Pre-Order details? Or will he reveal some information on what platforms the headset will support?

With the rise of other headsets, especially PlayStation VR there is a lot of interest as to how Oculus Rift will keep the interest of gamers. Obviously there are plenty of PC owners who will look to the Rift for their Virtual Reality experience, but even on that platform Steam VR is providing competition among others. Oculus Rift has plenty of competition and it needs to keep gamers interested.

With The Game Awards looking to gain an audience for the streamed event on Thursday they are collecting many exclusives to catch our interest. Oculus Rift is an interesting choice to be featured at the show, so hopefully the announcement will be something big. If not, fans may wonder what all the fuss was about over an announcement for the VR headset.
