Nvidia Involved With Nintendo

While some may question if the Nintendo NX will be released in 2016, others appear to see the console being ready that year. In fact, it appears that the console will hit mass production at the end of the first quarter of 2016, and be shipping 10 to 12 million units that year.

Based on news from DigiTimes they reveal that the mass production will take place early 2016. While Nintendo are only targeting 20 million units in 2016, they also state that the expected shipments will reach around 10-12 million units.

DigiTimes also states that Foxconn Electronics are manufacturing the device, but no confirmation has been made about this. Other suppliers of components for the NX include Macronix, Pixart Imaging, Coxon Precise Industrial, Nishoku Technology, Delta Technology, Lingsen Precision Industries and Jentech.

If 10-12 million units are shipped this will still be an impressive amount. With PlayStation 4 shipping 18, and Xbox One shipping 13 million it does seem like a plausible amount for 2016. While these may ship, there is still no hint as to when the Nintendo NX will actually be released to the public.

With news like this and the previous predictions by Michael Pacter, it does seem obvious that we’ll be seeing some kind of reveal at E3 2016, or maybe even earlier. If Nintendo are aiming to release the console in that year this is not only the perfect time to catch consumer interest, but also to show that this game is coming in that year.

Do you think Nintendo NX will be releasing in 2016? Will we see it at E3? Let us know your thoughts below.
