Looks Like Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Won’t Be Heading to The West

If you were looking forward to the release of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, you may be disappointed. It looks like there will be no release in the West.

This has been revealed on the Dead or Alive Game Facebook page, when a fan asked if the game would get a release in Europe or America. The first answer given was:

“We do not bring DOAX3 to the west and won’t have any plan change in the future. Thank you for asking.”

When a reason was asked for this, more information was revealed:

“Do you know many issues happening in video game industry with regard to how to treat female in video game industry? We do not want to talk those things here. But certainly we have gone through in last year or two to come to our decision. Thank you.”

If you’ve seen the footage from the game, this will come as no surprise that certain issues will be raised over the content in the game. Reading between the lines of the statement you can tell that there would be issues raised by the game’s release that the company don’t really want to deal with.

This will obviously be a shame for fans who have looked forward to the games, and they may still look to import the Japanese version (or buy it digitally).  The fact we are unlikely to get a localised version of the game though is obviously going to cause plenty of controversy, and will raise the debate of censorship once again.

Obviously these plans can change, though the decision above seemed final. If enough fans wanted it though, who knows?
