Nintendo is at an All Time Low in Metacritic Reviews This Year

Metacritic reviews average suggests that Nintendo has hit an all time low this year when it comes to critic scores for their games.

While the recent releases from Nintendo got us thinking that this year was going to be accredited to the revival of the good times for Nintendo, data from reviews platform Metacritic suggests that is not the case.

As you might already know, all the major titles get reviewed on the website – for all the major platforms – which means it is a pretty expansive database to look into for statistics and analytics.

Nintendo also has reviews piled up for 27 titles on the website. If you take out the average reviews on all of those combined, it reveals that the company is actually hitting an all time low!

For the calendar year 2015, their average review score is 69.8.

As compared to the last ten years, this is the lowest. Even in 2014 they had got 74.3 for 36 titles which was similar to the scores they got in 2013 i.e. 74.77.

It is a fact that there are some other games that still need to be rated for the year like EarthBound Beginnings, Flipnote Studio 3D, Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, Badge Arcade, New Style Boutique 2: Fashion Forward, Pokémon Shuffle, Super Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, and most importantly Xenoblade Chronicles X.

However, even Sony has Microsoft have some titles that are yet to be scored and they have still managed to get 76.06 (16 games) and 80.82 (11 games) respectively.

Of course all this depends on how highly do you regard the Metacritic ratings for games and the impact of this should also take into account the fact that Nintendo is shuffling things up quite a bit these days.
