Doctor Who Easter Egg Found in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

By   /   Nov 17, 2015

Many games include Easter eggs for players to find, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is one of them. The latest one found is enough to send a shiver down your spine, especially if you are a Doctor Who fan.

Fans of the British science fiction show will know the monsters known as the Weeping Angels well. Looking seemingly like angelic statues, the moment you look away then look back you find that they have suddenly moved, normally closer to you and ready to attack.

It looks like the Call of Duty level designers may be Doctor Who fans, as they have added an Easter egg into Nuketown which brings the mannequins to life in a Weeping Angels-esque way. YouTube user chaosxsilencer has made a video which you can see above that shows you how to find the Easter Egg, and then also revealed the results.

From his instructions you first have to shoot the arms off each of the mannequins that you find around the level, and this has to be done within two minutes, or so the video states. Once this has been done you’ll notice that the mannequins start to follow you, but only when you are not looking at them.

This is similar in style to another Easter egg that includes the mannequins that requires you to shoot their heads off. Once this has been done they will turn into zombies. I’m not sure which is creepier, zombies or “Freeze Frame” mannequins. The way they appear to creep upon you in the video makes this Easter egg seem slightly creepier than the zombies in my opinion.

The Weeping Angels from Doctor Who have also been used before in games. Fans of the Witcher 3 will know that there is a homage to them hidden away in the game waiting to be discovered.

Have you tried this Doctor Who Easter egg in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3? Let us know your thoughts on the creepy mannequins below.
