Porhub’s Traffic Suffers Fallout 4 Downfall on Game’s Release

It seems with the release of Fallout 4 everybody wants to feature in the hype around the release. Apparently with the release of the game, the viewing of porn saw a downturn.

This was based on the effect the game had on the Pornhub website who say that on November 10 as Fallout 4 started to release around the world, their site traffic started to drop coinciding with the time people finished downloading the game. They revealed to Venturebeat:

“We can’t say we’re too surprised with what happened to our traffic during peak gaming hours,” Pornhub vice president Corey Price told GamesBeat. “Based on the data, it looks like a huge surge of people decided to indulge in some wasteland wandering by taking the day off of work and school to play, while the rest of the world had to wade through what we assume were the longest hours of work ever in anticipation of some alone time with their consoles.”

On what they thought of Fallout 4’s impact on the website they had this to say:

“As huge fans of the game, we can’t say we blame anyone for swapping Pornhub time for some Pip-Boy surfing instead,” said Price. “We would have done the same.”

In case you wondered when the viewers returned to Pornhub, they say traffic skyrocketed around 11PM on November 10, so take from what what you will.

While it is all light hearted there is proof that events such as this do have an impact on sites such as Pornhub. Whether Fallout 4 really had an effect on people’s viewing habits though is something up for debate.
