Halo 5: Guardians to Get New Content in the Battle of Shadow and Light
Owners of Halo 5: Guardians are in for a treat with the announcement of the Battle of Shadow and Light. This event is the first drop of free content to the game for all players to enjoy.
The Battle of Shadow of Light is bringing three slices of content to the game in the form of the new Shinobi ninja-themed armour, a new Legendary Light Rifle, and also some new Big Team Battle maps and modes for players to take part in.
Along with these three drops there will also be a ton of new REQs that will also be added. These can be viewed in the image below. Through these REQs you’ll be able to get access to the new Ultra Rare Shinobi armour, and Legendary Dying Star Light Rifle. There are also Tundra and Woodland-themed vehicle skins and a brutal “Shove It” assassination.
The announcement of new content is good timing to try and keep fans invested in the game, especially when there are so many releases out at the moment. With many fans looking to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for their multiplayer FPS fun, Halo 5 needs to keep its fans interested.
With Microsoft building up these last few months of the year as the time for their big releases, Halo 5: Guardians is one of their big exclusives that they are using to show the Xbox One still has what it takes to be a “console for gamers” though PlayStation 4 is still dominating at this time, and will likely continue to do so. With this and Rise of the Tomb Raider though, Xbox is showing that it is a console that still has the muscle when it comes to exclusives, even if they are just timed like Tomb Raider.
