Fallout 4: Getting Stuck at Hacking terminals on PC? Here’s a Fix!
The PC version of Fallout 4 seems to be suffering from a weird glitch that occurs when the game’s frame-rate gets too high.
According to various users on Reddit, they are experiencing a bug that is getting them stuck at hacking terminals in the Bethesda’s latest title. Once you activate a terminal and finish your hacking, you won’t be able to exit.
Basically, you can’t get back to the gaming world in any way and have to force close it.
The issue apparently happens mostly to those with high refresh-rate monitors, usually above 60Hz. Looks like the game’s physics engine gets messed up when trying to run VSync at 144hz, or in conjunction with G-Sync.
Well, the solution for this is also out, which is to set the command “iPresentInterval” to value “0”. The said command is found in the Fallout4Prefs file, which resides in your game’s directory, that is, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Fallout4.
If that doesn’t work, try editing Fallout4Prefs found at C:\Users\yourname\Documents\My Games\Fallout4. Otherwise, the only option remains is to manually limit your frame-rate to something that doesn’t cause the game to get stuck.
