Starcraft II has come a long way. We started with Wings of Liberty and after the release of the Heart of the Swarm, it’s now time to complete the trilogy with Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void.
Since it’s a Standalone version, new users don’t need to panic much about the technical past as they can jump right into it.
For the old users who are unable to run Legacy of the Void, a clean install is recommended as it will resolve multiple issues. For common Starcart 2 Legacy of the issues and their possible fixes, you can browse through the following content.
#1 Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void Resource Stall Counter and Network Spikes
Some users have reported about Resource Stall and Network Spikes they are experiencing in-game. Apparently, there is some confusion in understanding these terms. A good explanation has been mentioned here. So yes, if you are facing any of the above mentioned issues, this does not mean you need to worry. However, if you are getting high latency and a lot of spikes, you should try restarting your router or check the service status.
#2 Startcraft 2 Legacy of the Void Installation/Update Issues
If you are facing any error while trying to install or start Legacy of the Void, try out the following steps:
- Make sure that you have the admin rights for your user (launch the Installer as Admin).
- If your operating system has any missing updates, make sure to complete them.
- Sometimes, the security tools (antivirus/firewall) can interfere with the installation. If that’s the case with you, try disabling them for a while until the game gets installed.
- Deleting files in your Temp folder (C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Local\Temp
) may sometimes resolve installation issues. Locate the Temp folder and delete its contents, then try again. - If nothing works, delete the old game and install an new one for Legacy of the Void.
#3 Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void BLZBNTAGT00000BB8 Error
If you are getting this error just after launch or in the game, you need to make sure that your following ports are open:
TCP: 6112
UDP: 6112
#4 Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void – Cannot Save Replays
If you are having trouble in saving data especially on Windows 10, you can try this workaround as it seems to have solved the issue for some.
#5 Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void – Error code BLZBNTAGT00000BCA While Update
Your firewall is interfering with the client. All you need to do is add an exception for the whole folder (just the launcher could also work) and try updating again.
#6 Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void – Start Up Error 0xc0000142
Try running the game in 32-bit mode and this error should be fixed. I am not sure how exactly it gets fixed but it seems to have worked for some.
#7 Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void – BLZBNTAGT0000096A Error
There is a workaround for it that might work for you:
1) Boot into a Selective Startup.
2) Delete these folders from the C:\ProgramData folder:
Battle.net
Blizzard Entertainment
Boot up the launcher again and see if the game starts updating normally.
#8 Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void – An Unexpected Fatal Error Occurred
Make sure that in your launcher, the game is not running the 32-bit version. Change it to 64-bit and the game should run fine. Legacy of the Void update might change it 32-bit by default.
#9 Starcraft Flickering Textures in Patch 3.0
If you are running an SLI/Crossfire, try disabling it. This should resolve the issue. Needless to say that you should have latest GPU drivers installed.
