Rise of the Tomb Raider

Rise of the Tomb Raider has arrived on Xbox One, and comes with some extras. If you play it before December 1 you’ll find that Lara has a new skin for her revolver to make it look a little more special.

Announced by Xbox today they revealed that if you play the game between November 10 to November 30 you’ll receive the golden Rattlesnake Revolver Skin. No details were revealed as to whether this skin brought any new attributes to the weapon or if they were merely cosmetic.

With the release, which is a timed exclusive for Xbox (both Xbox One and Xbox 360), Microsoft have been celebrating the success of the release with Phil Spencer commenting:

“We are incredibly proud of the work Crystal Dynamics and our team at Xbox have done and couldn’t be happier with the results of our partnership and collaboration,” said Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox. “With the greatest games lineup in Xbox history this holiday, the launch of Rise of the Tomb Raider celebrates yet another exciting, world-class experience that will delight millions of passionate Xbox fans around the world.”

PlayStation 4 owners will have to wait a year to get their hands on the game, with PC gamers having to wait a shorter time, though still in 2016. Whether this will push more gamers to buy an Xbox One to experience Rise of the Tomb Raiser will be interesting to see. If the game proves to be a big success as an “exclusive” for Xbox One, will the next Tomb Raider game be another timed exclusive for the Microsoft console?
