Blizzard Teams Up with Square Enix to Bring Overwatch to Japan, Only for PS4
Overwatch’s Game Director Jeff Kaplan has announced that they are working closely with Square Enix to bring localized version of Overwatch in Japan in spring 2016. The game will however only be available to PS4 platform. The Japanese official site is already live now.
No details about voice actors or actresses are available, though it would be cool for the PC version to be able to switch voice languages.
In a video released yesterday, Kaplan describes the “high-powered” nature of the game, plus gives a brief description of its overall narrative. The move is part of Blizzard’s efforts to widen the Overwatch reach, making the game appealing for more players.
The Japan-specific Overwatch: Origins Edition includes 5 heroes skins, and will be available to purchase at 7800 yen, roughly $63 USD.
