Nobuo Uematsu won’t be involved with Final Fantasy VII remake. The legendary musician was with Square and Final Fantasy for a really long time and is one of the most famous composers in the industry today.

Since he is so close to the franchise and worked on many Final Fantasy games, it was expected that he may be involved with Final Fantasy VII remake.

Square and Uematsu parted ways over a decade ago and when asked if he is back for Final Fantasy VII remake, he said: “No, not at all.”

Uematsu worked as a freelancer on many games so fans hoped to see him back, but his clear cut answer leaves no room for hope or speculation of his return.

Final Fantasy VII remake will release in 2016 for PlayStation 4. Will you miss Uematsu and his music?
