In today’s video, we discuss something subjective – are video game remasters good or bad? And...
Uncharted 4’s Multiplayer will be 900p/60fps
With Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End coming next year, we already know that the main story mode will be running at 1080p but only 30fps. Now that we’ve seen more of the multiplayer it’s also been revealed what resolution it will run in.
While it will run in 60fps those looking for the 1080p will be disappointed as it will be reduced to 900p. This may not be as impressive but if it makes the game hit the all-important 60fps is the hit worth it?
With the release of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection that runs at 1080p/60fps we’ve obviously had a taste of what the game can look and feel at its best. With Uncharted 4 bringing more to the game in terms of improved graphics though, there are complexities in the engine that have to adapt to the higher quality that fans are expecting.
While this may be bad news, PlayStation also revealed some of the details for the multiplayer that are much more positive, with some new systems coming to the mode:
- Sidekicks: When you are in a pinch you can call in your friendly Sidekick to help you. These are unique, AI controlled characters that come equipped with unique abilities that can help turn the tide of a battle.
- Mysticals: These are supernatural abilities from the Uncharted series that give a player unique powers. See if you can recognize what Mystical abilities we are showing off in the trailer.
- Last, you will be able to leverage the grappling hook in a number of locations in our multiplayer maps. We have also heavily leveraged this exciting mechanic for our melee. Yes, you will be able to land on people and take them out.
Maybe these will help deal with the blow of the lower resolution.
