Regret is a symmetrical multiplayer map in Halo 5 Guardians inspired by Midship from Halo 2. This map looks like a human brain when seen from a top-down perspective, and its central Top Mid location is the most important location of the map.

Game Modes
Slayer, Capture the Flag, Strongholds

Key Weapons & Power-ups
Fuel Rod Cannon (2 minutes respawn)
Overshield (2 minutes respawn)

Best Positions
Top Mid – The center of this symmetrical map, the all-important Top Mid, is one position that you will need to battle hard for. It is also this very position that once secured can tip the balance of the match in your favor, irrespective of what game mode you’re playing.

Top Mid control also allows you easy access to the Overshield at Bottom Mid.

What makes Regret’s Top Mid so special is that unlike most it provides plenty of cover. Its elevation makes it difficult for opponents to toss grenades, and in addition to the Overshield, you also get easy access to the Fuel Rod Cannon on the Overhang.

Challenging the enemy when they hold Top Mid can be extremely difficult in this map, and the best way to do it is to move to Bottom Mid and attempt to draw out players at Top Mod. It’s not always going to work, but it’s the best option you have.

Regret Map Tips and Strategy
Regardless of the game mode, the first thing you want to do is aggressively push as a team for Top Mid. This is where 1v1 abilities and movement skills become determining factors in your success/failure.

The control of Top Mid is essentially the control of this entire map, and you should push to get the Overshield as soon as possible. If you succeed, your team has a significant advantage.

In Capture the Flag, your defender can move back to position while the rest of the team covers the Flag Carrier with the Overshield. You’ll be able to constantly push towards the enemy’s base while keeping a single player back at Top Mid to hold the area.

If you’ve been pinned down as a result of the opponent team using the above mentioned tactic, the DMR in the Red and Blue Bases are your best bet against the Top Mid holders, along with trying to lure out the players at Top Mid through Bottom Mid.

If you’re roaming around the map instead of controlling Top Mid, be sure to do it with at least one other teammate, unless you’re very confident in your run-and-gun skills. This map will present a lot of 1v1 scenarios in locations other than Top Mid, so having an ally covering your back and vice versa is always a good idea.
