Treyarch Reveal More About the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombies Progression System
With the Zombies looking particularly impressive in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, the more information we get the better it sounds. Treyarch have been discussing what to expect in Shadows of Evil, and beyond.
When talking to Examiner Jason Blundell, the Director of Campain and Zombies for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 had some interesting things to say. For the gorehounds, this included the fact that you can expect heads to explode faster:
“It’s based on the same principle,” said Blundell of moving forward in the mode, “In Zombies, we give you a bit more up front earlier and then we have the nice and slow pacing as it goes out.”
He revealed that there will be two core methods of progression for your characters, the Bumble Gum machines and another focused on weapons:
“One is the Bubble Gum, which is the Bumble Gum machine and the second thing is weapons for these sort of build kits. The more you use those weapons, the more you get attachments. It’s all based around the same fundamental technology.”
An important factor for Shadows of Evil and the DLC is that they want it to feel like a contained experience, but true to the Zombie player style:
“What we did was we based it on the fact that our Zombie fans play for a very long time, so what we wanted to have this distribution and setup, which takes them into the DLC season,”
For those looking for something substantial, perhaps the best news is that the progress system doesn’t just end with the core Zombies experience:
“It’s not only something they can rattle through very quickly on the main game, Shadows of Evil, but it also supports the DLC season.”
So Shadows of Evil is showing a lot of promise, but will it be able to live up to all the hype? We’ll have to wait and see.
