The Overwatch Closed Beta has gone live and Blizzard are sending out invites to people deemed worthy of playing the game. As always with PC games, one of the first things player need to know is if their system can handle the requirements.

In the blog that reveals some details about the beta, the FAQ reveals the system requirements for the game:

Minimum (targeting 30fps):

Operating system: Windows Vista/7/ 8/10 64-bit (latest Service Pack)

Processor: Intel Core i3 or AMD Phenom™ X3 865

Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460, ATI Radeon HD 4850, or Intel HD Graphics 4400

Memory: 768 MB VRAM, 4 GB System RAM

Storage: 7200 RPM with 5 GB available HD space

Recommended (targeting 60fps on Medium settings):

Operating system: Windows Vista/7/ 8/10 64-bit (latest Service Pack)

Processor: Intel Core i5 or AMD Phenom II X3, 2.8 GHz

Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or ATI Radeon HD 7950

Memory: 2 GB VRAM, 6 GB System RAM

Storage: 7200 RPM with 5 GB available HD space

Looking at the requirements, these specs aren’t too taxing for most rigs, even a medium spec PC should be able to handle the minimum specs with ease. To gain 60fps the settings can be experimented with, though looking at the recommended specs, even these aren’t asking for too much in terms of hardware.

If you don’t get an invite to the beta, there will still be chances, such as the test weekends which will flood the servers with users for stress testing. If you just want to see the game in action there are no restrictions on beta testers when it comes to what they can show, so there will be plenty of streams and footage on Youtube and Twitch showing what the game looks like.
