New Gameplay Trailer Reveals “The Giant” Bonus Map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
Activision and Treyarch have revealed a gameplay trailer that will be just what fans of the Zombies mode wanted to see. Instead of focusing on Shadows of Evil though this is footage from the bonus map “The Giant”.
While the main zombies campaign focuses on a noir style Shadows of Evil, The Giant is a chance to relive the chaos of the “Der Riese” map and will see the return of Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo and Richtofen. As you can see this is a return to the World War 2 era, and in the trailer we see the research facility. More interestingly we get to also see the Pack-a-Punch machine, Teleporters, and Hellhounds.
To be able to play this exclusive map you can pre-order the game which will grant you access. As is expected now this map won’t be available for players on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. While this is obviously because of the lack of power in the older consoles to be able to handle what Treyarch want to do with these maps, it’s still going to be disappointing to many.
It will be interesting to see just how well (or badly) the game sells on the previous generation consoles. With the lack of the interesting new maps, and the whole campaign mode, it is becoming questionable why they chose to release on the older consoles at all.
Looking past the disappointments and focusing on the positive, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 does hold a lot of promise for the current generation consoles and PC, and the Zombies mode looks a lot of fun. Now to see if the promised Call of Duty experience in not only multiplayer but also campaign mode can actually be delivered.
