With the release of The Old Hunters DLC for Bloodborne in November there will be ten new weapons added to the game. One of them may has been hinted at on Twitter with the posting of a new image.

Looking like a sword with detachable elements, this could be the blade that was described in a Eurogamer article which provided details of what is to come in the DLC, with the sword described as “a whip that converts into a katana sword, which in the build provided was combined with a stun-bomb that players could use before diving in for a succession of high damage attacks” could this be the weapon we see in the picture?

As well as weapons there is a new location in The Old Hunters, though old ones will be used as well and new NPCs can be summoned. With around 8 hours more content the level of challenge is on par with the second half of the game.

When the DLC is released, this will give Dark Souls fans something to play while they wait for Dark Souls 3 to arrive in 2016. While there is a big difference between the two games, there is still enough similarities to keep people happy, as long as they are playing on the PlayStation 4 of course. On the Xbox One and PC Dark Souls 2 will have to do for now.

If this is a new weapon for The Old Hunters DLC it does look like an effective tool for destruction, especially if it unfurls into a whip. Now just to see it in action in the game.
