New Skins Coming to League of Legends in Patch 5.21 Will Now Be Legacy
This month League of Legends will be getting Patch 5.21, in it will be some Halloween surprises but also some skins. It appears that based on “feedback” from users, the skins will now be legacy skins.
This announcement came on Twitter from Riot Games’ QA on Skins:
Hey guys, we heard your feedback about the Zombie/Slayer skins not being legacy. We’ve decided to make these skins legacy.

The skins in question are Slayer Jinx, Zombie Nunu, and Slayer Pantheon. These skins will be available in the game for 1350RP.
With the change to Legacy, this means that the skins will only be available for a limited amount of time before being removed from the store. They will then be placed into the Legacy Vault. This creates more of an incentive for people to rush to buy them before they are no longer available. The skins should be available for about two weeks or more.
As well as these skins, there will be some lore updates for some of the League of Legends champions. These include Mordekaiser, Hecarim, Kalista, Karthus and Thresh. Hecarim’s for example is now:
“Break their ranks and ride them down without mercy. Crush the living and feast on their terror.
Hecarim is an armored colossus who charges from the Shadow Isles at the head of a deathly host of spectral horsemen to hunt the living. A monstrous fusion of man and beast, cursed to ride for eternity, Hecarim revels in slaughter and crushing souls beneath his armored hooves.”
There will also be some new nerfs and buffs which are being tested on the Public Beta Environment now. Depending on how successful their run is in that environment will see if they make it onto the live servers.
