The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone Limited Edition Delayed in North America
With the release of The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone today players have the chance to play the extended content for the game. If you live in North America though and pre-ordered the Limited Edition it looks like you won’t be receiving it just yet.
Today Marcin Momot the Community Lead for CD Projekt Red took to the Witcher 3 forum to announce the delay:
“Dear North American gamers, as you might have heard, we prepared a special boxed edition of Hearts of Stone that was supposed to be sold in GameStop stores all over America.
However, it has come to our attention that, due to logistical problems, customers will be unable to obtain the physical edition of the game for several days after launch. We are working with GameStop to fix this situation as soon as possible and deeply apologize for the inconvenience.”
He also states that if you don’t want to wait to play the game you can order it digitally now, as well as purchasing the Gwent cards separately here. He also revealed that they don’t have a specific date for it to be available just yet.
This problem affects GameStop stores where the Limited Edition was available to pre-order and buy. Hopefully the problems with the physical release will be remedied and those who wish to purchase the Limited Edition will be able to do so.
With over 10 hours of new gameplay, new characters (and old), new relationships, and new monsters The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone is being well received by fans. Hopefully this bad news won’t sour the release for those looking forward to the game extension.
Did you pre-order the Limited Edition of Hearts of Stone? What are your thoughts on the delay?
