Star Wars Battlefront Beta Played by More Than 9 Million People
As expected the Force was strong in the Star Wars Battlefront Beta. With over 9 million people playing the game DICE will have plenty of data to go through to make sure their game can cope on release.
In an update posted today as the beta ended, EA and DICE revealed that the Star Wars Battlefront beta has been the biggest in the history of EA:
“Yesterday, the Star Wars Battlefront beta surpassed a major milestone: more than nine million players logged in and played. That makes this the single largest beta in the history of EA. We could not be happier that so many of you wanted to come in to get a small taste of what our passionate team has been working on.
Ever since we revealed Star Wars Battlefront back in April, we knew the beta would be a huge test for our game. After all, the beta has been one of the most talked about topics around the game over the last six months, and it was exciting (and a little nerve racking if I’m being completely honest) to open it up to the world.”
While there were some random bugs with the beta and a few teething problems, the version of Star Wars Battlefront we got to play with was a fairly stable build. Hopefully the data that will have been collected, and feedback from players will allow DICE to balance the combat out more as well as further optimise the network code making sure the game is stable on release.
With the game being released November 17 in North America, and November 19 in Europe there is little more than a month to wait to get the play the full game. With the expensive Season Pass also revealed, hopefully the high price won’t have a negative impact on the release.
