First Gameplay Footage Of Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final Released

By   /   1 year ago

At a recent NicoNico Live event, Atlus shared the first trailer for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final, alongside over 10 minutes of gameplay footage for the 3DS title. The footage shows players fighting against the demon Medussa.

The video also brings with it a look at the protagonist of the game and his party. Some more insight was shared into the demons as well, according to which, each demon will have access to various skills in addition to some unique and special characteristics.

It’s possible for a demon to specialize in a certain skill, while still having access to a range of different abilities.

The video also showed something even more interesting about the boss fight. Once near death, Medussa admits her defeat and claims to have lost all desire to petrify people.

She then asks players to look into her eyes to see that she is not lying (possibly another tactic of hers) after which players are given a choice to look directly into her eyes, glance from the side of their eyes or continue fighting.

If the players opt to glance from the side of their eyes like they did in the video, Medussa cries out and her defense is lowered making it even more easy to finish her off.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final is slated for release in Japan in February 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
