For the people not trying out Star Wars Battlefront this weekend there are still other game out there to play, and that includes Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. This weekend there will be a chance to reach Grand Master Prestige with Double XP.

To celebrate Grand Master Prestige Day Sledgehammer Games made the announcement of the double XP on Twitter:

The actual Appreciation Day will take place October 19 and will celebrate the players who have shown the determination and hard work to rank themselves up to the Grand Master Prestige. For those who haven’t made it there yet, a double XP weekend may be the best way to get there.

On October 18, a snapshot will be taken of the server records for all platforms, the people who have achieved the appropriate level will then be rewarded with 10 Advanced Supply Drops which will start on the Monday, October 19.

While a special weekend like this is welcome, the timing may not be for some. As Star Wars Battlefront is in open beta for this weekend people are going to have a focus on that game. Will they have time for Call of Duty? Obviously with the Battlefront beta being for previous consoles only there will be planet of Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 people who may stick to Call of Duty.
