Rise of the Tomb Raider

Rise of the Tomb Raider a strange feature called Expedition Cards whose function wasn’t very well known. These enigmatic cards were a part of the Season Pass and preorder bonus, but we were never really given an explanation of what exactly they were.

Pixel Dynamo however suggests that they’ve figured out what these cards are meant to do. These cards are used in the four different modes in Rise of the Tomb Raider:

Chapter Replay / Chapter Replay Elite
These two modes, as the names suggest, let you replay different chapters in the game at varying difficulties.

Score Attack
This mode challenges you to replay levels and acquire medals and complete specific tasks.

Remnant Resistance
This is a special ‘hub’ mode where players can create their own levels and share them with others.

All four of these modes will earn you credits, which can be spent to buy Expedition Cards. These cards are pretty much modifiers for the above mentioned modes, and act as an in-game collectible.

There are two kinds of Expedition Card: common cards and foil cards. Common Cards can be spent only once, then have to be re-purchased to be used again. Foil cards can be used an unlimited number of times.
