Halo 5 Forge Mode May be Impressive, But Don’t Expect it Until December
While Halo 5: Guardians will come with plenty of multiplayer maps for the players to do battle on, there will always be the need for more. This will be where Forge mode will come into play, but don’t expect it until December.
In a new update from 343 Industries they have taken a look at Forge and what it will bring to the game. Looking to provide players with the ability to create some impressive maps, Design Lead Tom French had this to say of the new mode:
“When we began working on Halo 5 a little over three years ago, we had the opportunity to take a step back and consider the future of Forge mode. This would be the first Halo game built from the ground up for Xbox One, and with it we wanted to deliver tools that would empower a new generation of Forgers. As we developed our vision, we challenged ourselves to think big, for Halo 5 and the future beyond. We compiled our ideas, scoured the internet for community wish lists, and stirred it all together. Rather than just tack a handful of new features on top of what’s already there, it was important to examine every nook and cranny to make sure even the foundations for building with Forge were up to snuff.”
In the video showing off some of the new tools for Forge mode not only does it look like a versatile system but it also looks fun to use. It will be interesting to see what players come up with when they have some time to play with it themselves. From what we’ve seen with other similar tools the output from the games community can be very impressive.
