Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has been out a whole month now and people are still having fun with it. Whether actually playing the game or debating just how complete it was when released, it continues to be the game people obsess about.

Konami are obviously happy with the feedback they have received from the release, and to be fair to them it has all gone smoothly and been a success, even on the PC. To celebrate this is looks like there will be an FOB event from September 30 to October 6. After this a patch is also being promised bringing even more fun to the FOB online gameplay.

The evidence of this comes in the myriad of messages that you see when you load up the game. Most of us by now are used to just skipping them and moving on, but if you take the time to actually see what these messages are saying, one is promising special FOB events.

The series of events will take place where players who manage to win a series of challenges will gain a “fantastic reward” though there are no clues as to what these will be. The main focus of this is to get players to take part in the online FOB challenges, and play some more of the game.

It has not been revealed if this patch will bring any more fixes or optimisations to the game, but it is safe to assume that they probably will be included. For those who actually take part in the event and gain the reward, you’ll receive your prices October 13.
