New Rise of the Tomb Raider Gameplay Footage Features More Tomb Raiding
Rise of the Tomb Raider is heading our way November 10, and a new gameplay video has been released. Showing not only combat but some tomb raiding it reveals more of what we’ve come to expect from the game.
This video will obviously excite Xbox owners who are looking forward to the release of the game, and while PlayStation 4 and PC owners will obviously say they are willing to wait, I’m sure they will look at this game with envy.
Featuring stealth play, gunfights, and a little tomb raiding, this is yet another video showing off the best of the game. Using what the previous game did best and adding to it there are a few interesting new features to take notice of.
One of them is the language learning system. While we don’t see it much, it is being used in the tomb. As Lara learns more languages she’ll be able to discover more secrets and reap the rewards of the learning process.
Another system is the use of allies. While we saw some in the previous game, this appears to be extended with the locals taking it on themselves to kill your enemies. The game hints that the more you work on this allegiance with the fighters, the greater amount of help they’ll be able to give. It’s nice to see that although Lara’s battle may be a lone one, she still has people watching her back.
This video works well to get players excited for the return of Lara Croft, but I still can’t help but feel the exclusivity for Xbox has damaged the game. Whether this is the case or not, I’m sure fans will buy the console if they want to play the game now.
