Over the last five years, The International has become the pinnacle moment for the world of professional Dota. Now the excitement of the biggest event in esports is coming to the Majors, a series of seasonal marquee tournaments, which will take place throughout the year and around the globe. Dota’s newest tradition begins this fall with the Frankfurt Major.

Since the first one is being held in Frankfurt, Germany, it is called the Frankfurt Major, but the future Dota 2 Major events won’t necessarily be called that.

As far as the schedule is concerned, you should mark your calendars for five days starting November 16 and going on until November 21. This ESL produced event will bring the top 15 teams to Festhalle Messe, Frankfurt to compete for a massive prize pool of $3 million.

While the rest of the event is open to public 50 Euro tickets will be sold for the finals on Sunday, September 27, the at 11:00am CEST and then at 7:00pm CEST on the same day. This is where you can purchase yours.

Invited teams get announced on October 5 with Open Qualifiers being held from October 6 – 9 and Regional Qualifiers being held from October 10 – 13. Are you excited about the first official Dota 2 Major?
