Assassin’s Creed 4 Could be Free on Playstation Plus in October
With Assassin’s Creed Syndicate coming out October 23 on Playstation 4 and Xbox One, now would be the time to remind people of the franchises’ best moments. If a Sony advertisement is correct, then they may be doing just that on the PlayStation Network.
On the image that has been shown by not only Neogaf and Reddit but also PlaystationLifestyle it appears that Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag could be one of the PlayStation Plus games for October. Unless the advertisement was a mistake of course.
If this is true though, then this is a wise move. Black Flag is arguably one of the best (if not the best) of the Assassin’s Creed games, and is a wiser choice, rather than using Unity as a promotional tool. It’s also interesting to note that there appears to be an Assassin’s Creed sale on the store too. This is apparently where the user is taken when they click on Assassin’s Creed 4.
What also makes this advertisement interesting is the fact that Black Flag has already been a free game on Xbox One through the Games with Gold promotion, so I’m sure many PlayStation 4 owners would like to see this similar move. While many will have played it, and it isn’t exactly a new title, the game still has the usefulness as a promotional tool.
Until we know if this is a mistake or not we’ll have to keep an eye on the situation, but it does make sense to have some kind of promotion happening on the run up to Syndicate. While it does show the weakness of Unity, it also reminds us just how good Assassin’s Creed 4 was.
