Mad Max Easter Egg Rekindles Half Life 3 Discussions
Okay we know that there is not supposed to be a connection between what you see in Mad Max and what Valve decides to do (hopefully in this lifetime of mine) with Half Life 3. However, Avalanche Studios didn’t let it pass when they had the opportunity to remind us of good old Gordon Freeman.
I am not sure how many of you have come across this, but there is an Easter Egg in Mad Max that is as painful to see as it might have been for the Half Life protagonist had he actually been in the apocalyptic game by Avalanche.
At a certain point in the game (check the gallery below for the exact location) you come across a bunch of crates with a dismembered body. Look closer and you see the burnt body’s hand is perched atop one of the crates so clearly as if it was meant to be noticed.
So what exactly is there to see? Well, the hand is holding – wait for it – a crowbar. The body has those glasses too, although you cannot relate it with Gordon.
However, there is one last thing that makes the Easter Egg a not so subtle nudge at Half Life 3. Look closer on the crates and you will see the number three written in orange. Yep.

In all honesty, it has been too long since we have been waiting for Half Life 3 and if Gordon had to be in the wastelands of Mad Max all this time, I would doubt he’d have a fate different from this.
