Drew Karpyshyn, Mass Effect Lead Writer, Rejoins Bioware
Did you love the story of the first and second Mass Effect? Well, we ask that because the lead writer behind all that, Drew Karpyshyn, is now back at Bioware.
Karpyshyn had left the development studio to work on his own novel writing endeavors back in 2012 but has rejoined the studio a couple of days ago. Here’s the guy making the announcement:
I am back working at BioWare again! For those who don’t know, I spent over a decade with BioWare working on many award winning and fan-beloved games like Mass Effect 1&2, Knights of the Old Republic and the Star Wars: The Old Republic Online MMO.
A few years ago I left BioWare to focus on my Chaos Born novels, but now that the trilogy is finished, I’ve decided to come back into the fold.
However, with Karpyshun being the lead writer on Mass Effect and the new found hype around everything the studio is doing these days, you might be thinking that he is being called back to work on a new IP. Sadly, that is not the case.
The writer himself confirmed this by adding “I originally came to the Austin studio many years ago to work on SWTOR and – at least for now – that’s what I’m focusing on again.”
If you loved his novels, don’t worry because he will continue to write them side by side with his work at Bioware.
