New Xbox One Experience Roll-out Starts Today
If you are on the Xbox One Experience Preview for Xbox One it looks like you’ll be able to get the new Xbox One update this weekend. Major Nelson revealed roll-out starts today and will continue over the weekend.
While people will obviously be interested on finally getting their hands on this, a note of caution should be given. As previously reported the following games may suffer graphical issues, or may stop working altogether:
- Guacamelee: SCTE
- Elite: Dangerous
- Pool Nation FX
- D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die
- Xbox Fitness
- Destiny: The Taken King
- Game Compilation Discs: ex. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Saints Row IV.
Forza 6 is also said to be having some graphical issues with this update, so it really is a case of downloading the update at your own risk.
When big updates like this are released, obviously people want to get an early look at what is coming. The fact that there will be some teething problems is no surprise. This is a preview, and should be treated as a beta release. Being able to preview it gives you the privilege of testing it for Microsoft, so in the end it will be you that loses out.
Is it worth applying the new update if you have access to it? If you have any of the games above, which include two major new releases then the answer is probably no, unless you are willing to risk seeing problems with your game. Obviously these will be fixed but the fact that Microsoft are warning ahead of time of possible issues, this is a sign to be wary of simply rushing into this update.
Will you be taking the risk with the latest update? Let us know your thoughts below.
