Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Costume DLC Revealed
With the success of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, it should be no surprise that Konami have some plans for DLC. What we appears to be getting are new outfits not only for Snake, but for his buddies too.
In images taken from the Metal Gear Solid presentation at the Tokyo Game Show we can see the offerings that are coming. This includes outfits from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (the jungle fatigues, sneaking suit, and tuxedos.) In addition, there are also female soldier uniforms available in the form of The Boss, and EVA. Also featured in the images are two costumes for D-Horse.
What will be interesting will be if this is what fans actually want in the form of DLC. We are yet to see any kind of pricing for the downloadable content, so we still have to see what Konami things these are worth.
Now that we are moving into the phase after The Phantom Pain’s release things are happening at Konami, and this of course includes the leaving of Kojima. As the creator of Metal Gear Solid moves away from the company, are his fans going to be as open to buying into Konami’s buying model without his influence? This is very questionable.
It feels at the moment that Konami come under a lot of scrutiny these days and quite rightly. An example of this should also be on their treatment of PC fans with PES 2016. Just taking a look at reaction to the release says it all, this is a version of the game to stay away from.
At a time when Konami should be very aware of its public image, maybe they need to try a little harder to appease their customer, be it with this DLC or the release of their games.
